The Gifts Or The Giver

God created the universe and everything in it, including the earth and its inhabitants. He created men and He created a place for them to live. He created the place before He created the men. The earth, the universe and everything in them are gifts of God to men. We ought to be grateful for His gifts to us but we must not worship them. Nothing should be more important to us than our Creator. If we are to have anything more than He has already given to us, we will have to receive that from Him too.

James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

2 Peter 1:3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Many worship God*s creation or parts of it. They worship the Devil, the sun, the moon, the trees, the animals, gold, silver, pleasure, their bellies and even one another. They have external idols and even worse, idols in their hearts.

Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being;

John 1:10: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Genesis 1:26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Romans 1:19: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Ezekiel 14:3: Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . .

What or who is in your heart? Is it your Creator or something else? Make no mistake about it, when He is living in your heart He will change everything about you and your life. He gave you your body and your life. He will make them what He wants them to be.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
